    Value

Hyatt points are not as easy to come by as Marriott who has cards with Chase and American Express, or Hilton which just simply has many card options. Hyatt only has one credit card, one transfer partner, and a few options to gain additional points.

Hyatt has probably one of the most underrated hotel programs in terms of redeeming points. In my experience, the points cost has been really competitive compared to cash price.

I value Hyatt points at 1.75 cents per point. However, keep in mind it is not impossible to get more value.

    Do Hyatt Points expire?

Hyatt points expire after 24 months of inactivity.

    Ways to earn Hyatt points

    • Paid stays at Hyatt properties

    • Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card

    • Ultimate Rewards point transfer from Sapphire Reserve / Sapphire Preferred / Ink Business Preferred

    • Flights with American Airlines

    • Rentals with Avis

    High Value Use Case

    Park Hyatt New York

    • Cash price on the dates is $1,145.27

    • Cost in points is 30,000, transferred from Chase

    • $1,145.27 / 30,000 points = 3.8 cents per point!

New York hotels tend to be expensive, but here’s an example of how you get outsized value even domestically in the United States.

    Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa

    • Cash price on the dates above is $2,932.00

    • Cost in points is 30,000

    • $2,932.00 / 30,00 points = 9.8 cents per point
I know the Maldives gets mentioned quite a bit on this site, but in terms of value per points, this is the highest valuation I’ve seen for Hyatt points, and a great international option for points redemption!
