    Value

Capital One Miles (COM) can be redeemed in many ways. For example,

    • A statement credit/check(cash back) can be redeemed for 2 points per one cent.

    • Gift cards can be redeemed at a rate of 100 miles for 80 cents.

    • Travel booked on Capital One Travel (their online portal) can redeemed for 1 mile per one cent.

    • For transfer partners, you can transfer 1000 Capital One Miles to 1000 points or miles with a partner. (There are a few exceptions. For Accor Live Limitless, 1000 COM is only equal to 500 Accor Live Limitless points, and for Eva Air, 1000 COM Miles can only be converted to 750 Eva Air miles).

I don’t suggest using COM for anything other than transferring to partners. I have been able to consistently get at least 2 cents per point per COM, but I value them at a lower cents per point ratio because for those who don’t want to transfer, the floor should still be at least 1 cent per point.

I value Capital One miles at 1.5 cents per point. However, keep in mind it is not impossible to get more value.

Do Capital One Miles (COM) expire?

COM points do not expire as long as you maintain a Capital One Miles earning credit card in good standing.

    Transfer Partners

If you hold a premium Capital One card such as the Capital One Venture X card, you can transfer to the following airline or hotel Partners at a ratio of 1000 COM : 1000 points/miles (Accor Live Limitless is 1000 Capital One Miles to 500 Accor Live Limitless points, and Eva Air is 1000 Capital One Miles to 750 miles).

Every once in a while there are bonus offers for transfers where you can get bonus extra miles. For example, Air France-KLM will occasionally give a 20% or 25% bonus when transferring your Capital One Miles.

    High Value Use Case

Singapore Airlines Flight to from Singapore to New York in First Class

    • Cash price on the dates is $8,629

    • Cost in miles is 237,000

    • $8,629 / 237,000 miles = 3.64 cents per point
If you were to transfer your COM to Singapore Airlines, you could then redeem them for this flight, giving you a point value of 3.64 cents per point, which is substantially higher than our average value of a Capital One Mile!

Emirates Flight to Maldives from Dubai

    • Cash price on the dates is $1,435

    • Cost in miles is 39,000

    • $1,435 / 39,000 miles = 3.67 cents per point
If you were to transfer your COM to Singapore Airlines, you could then redeem them for this flight, giving you a point value of 3.67 cents per point, which is substantially higher than our average value of a COM! I transferred my COM to Singapore Airlines for my Maldives-Bali trip in November 2022.
